On the hydrangeas

the weight of the morning sun

the evening sun

---Otsuyu

Midafternoon. Two nine-year-old boys with hoses, visible
only as silhouettes given the sun's low angle. The light is
as brilliant as the sun is hot, reflecting in the spray of
their water weapons. And then I catch sight of my son's face.

the best thing about
this angle of light
is your glowing smile

Thank you, both. This was actually kind of a deja vu, or double experience, for me of an event which also occurred with an older child many years ago. I was partially writing from the memory of the photo I took way back when of that pair of boys. Sometimes, history"s repetition of itself can be quite pleasant.
